About Me

A country girl from Mendota, Virginia, I grew up living the simple life.  I remember a time when we didn't even have indoor plumbing.   As a teenager, I couldn't wait to escape the life I had in Mendota.  There was not a movie theater, a Wal-Mart or even a place to buy pizza.  It was a truly a place of simplicity.  Now as an adult, with my own family, I long to return to a place like Mendota and live the simple life.

I have been married for 19 years to my high school sweetheart and have two daughters, Kayla and Kendra. Throughout my adult life, trying to provide for my family, I have certainly been caught up in the rat race of life.  I had the opportunity to climb the ladder in corporate America, but continued to have an emptiness and of course less time to spend with the family. The last several years, my heart has been yearning to return to that simple way of living.

We have got things so backwards in today's society.  Have you ever noticed that someone who is dirt poor is generally more happy than someone with all the things life has to offer?  It's because they can focus on the simple things without the stress and turmoil that comes along with "having it all" in this generation. Returning to simplicty is a process that will take time, but I am ready to make the journey.

Just recently, I have discovered that I enjoy writing.  I thought this blog would be a great place to share this new found passion.   My hope is that I can share my experiences with you and help you discover the path to simplicty in your life.
